Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of signals to be output, when a unit pixel has multiple light receiving elements.SOLUTION: An image pick-up device has unit pixels 200 including multiple light receiving elements, and the unit pixels are arranged in two-dimensional matrix. The image pick-up device obtains at least first and second signals by mixing the outputs from first light receiving elements placed in a first direction selectively, and obtains at least third and fourth signals by mixing the outputs from second light receiving elements placed in a direction intersecting the first direction selectively. When a first drive mode is set, three signals out of the first, second, third and fourth signals are output as image signals when performing image plane phase difference AF control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
