PURPOSE: To provide an image pickup device capable of recording an image and sound by using a recording medium having only a photosensitive recording function.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive recording medium 8 is exposed to R, G and B respectively and independently, and a still picture is exposed in every frame 19 while the recording medium 8 is carried from a supply roll 6 side to a housing roll 7 side. Simultaneously, the ambient sound is detected by microphones 73R, 73G and 73B and processed by respective signal conversion circuits 74R, 74G and 74B. Then, optical recording heads 75R, 75G and 75B are actuated, so that sound tracks 79R, 79G and 79B are exposed and formed. The exposed sound tracks 79R, 79G and 79B are simultaneously developed and fixed together with the still picture exposed in every frame 19 in a developing and fixing unit.
