To solve such a problem that technical skill and time and labor are required for the horizontal adjustment of an image pickup device provided on a universal head.
This image pickup device having a photographic lens part 13 and an image pickup part 28 picking up an image formed by the lens part 13 is provided with driving means 2 to 6 for driving and rotating the image pickup part 28 around nearly the same axis as the photographing optical axis of the lens part 13.
