To attain the common use of a postprocessing circuit by transferring from the clock of a preprocessing system to the clock of a postprocessing system.
An image pickup signal obtained from a CCD 11 is supplied to a preprocessing circuit 14, and a preprocessing signal consisting of a luminance signal and a chrominance signal is formed, and the preprocessing signal is supplied to the postprocessing circuit 15, and a postprocessing signal to be outputted to the outside or to be recorded is formed. This device is constituted so that a process from the CCD 11 to the preprocessing circuit 14 is driven by a first clock CKH or a second clock CKL slower than it, and the postprocessing circuit 15 is driven by the first clock. A clock transfer circuit 20 is installed between the preprocessing circuit 14 and the postprocessing circuit 15, and when the process to the preprocessing circuit 14 is being driven by the second clock, the clock transfer circuit is actuated, and the preprocessing signal transferred from the second clock to the first clock is supplied to the postprocessing circuit 15. Thus, the common use of the postprocessing circuit 15 can be attained.
