To provide an image processing apparatus to decompose image data obtained from a single plate imaging device having color filters of a plurality of colors into a plurality of frequency bands, store them into a memory, compensates image data of a plurality of frequency bands read out from the memory, and composes them, capable of performing an excellent image processing without increasing memory capacity to store image data of a plurality of frequency bands.
The image processing apparatus stores in the memory a first image data of the highest frequency out of images of a plurality of frequency bands in such a configuration that each pixel has one of a plurality of color signals, and stores a second image data having a frequency band lower than the first image data in the memory in such a configuration that a part or all of the pixels have a plurality of color signals.
