To provide an image processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus, an image reading device, a control method, a computer program, and a recording medium that, if image data has edges, output the image data the inclination of which is corrected, and if the image data does not have edges, outputs the image data without correcting the inclination.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: an input unit that receives input of image data; a determination unit that determines whether the image data is image data with edges or image data without edges; a detection unit that, when the image data is the image data with edges, detects the angle of inclination of the image data; and an output unit that, when the image data is the image data with edges, outputs the image data the inclination of which is corrected by the angle detected by the detection unit, and when the image data is the image data without edges, outputs the image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
