An image processing apparatus includes: focal position information acquiring means which acquires focal position information on the basis of a captured image; first trimming area determination means which determines a position and size of a first trimming area on the basis of the focal position information; second trimming area determination means which determines a position and size of a second trimming area smaller than the first trimming area on the basis of the focal position information; and trimmed image generation means which generates trimmed images based on the first and second trimming areas.
