Abstract:
To provide an image processing technique which analyzes particles with satisfactory accuracy by using an image of particles captured by an optical microscope.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus according to the present invention has: first acquiring means for acquiring a height image having height information from an image capturing plane as a pixel value; second acquiring means for acquiring, as a first luminance image, at least one of luminance images obtained by capturing an observation region similar to the height image; and binarizing means for acquiring binary information for use in discriminating the observation region to a particle region and a non-particle region by using a first threshold value acquired based on a histogram of pixel values of a reference image selected from either of the height image and the first luminance image. The binarizing means corrects the binary information for each local region by using a second threshold value acquired based o a pixel value at a local region of an image which is not selected as the reference image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
