Abstract:
To prevent a program processing region from becoming short even when an image processing region is expanded with respect to print data with the poor compression efficiency by a compression and expansion processor in an image processing device in which the size of RAM is restricted.SOLUTION: A CPU executes compression rate acquisition processing (processing in a step S104) of acquiring the average value of the compression rate of each band whose compression processing has been completed by the current time point or the compression rate of the band as the determination compression rate when the compression processing of a prescribed band of bitmap data is completed after the start of the compression processing by a compression and expansion processor, and region optimization processing (processing in a step S112) of expanding the volume of an image processing region by a prescribed amount when it is determined that the acquired determination compression rate is equal to or greater than a prescribed threshold, and reducing the volume of a program processing region by the same amount as the expansion amount of the image processing region by executing the memory compression to at least a portion of the program processing region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
