Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform white balance correction intended by a user with a few material operations even under an environment such as in the water in which complicated operations are difficult.SOLUTION: A color evaluation value of an image data predicted to represent white is calculated from the image data of an image (S201, S206), and also, a water depth at which a subject is located is estimated from color distribution information of the image (S203). An axis representing a white point locus at the water depth is set on a coordinate plane representing the color evaluation value (S204), and the color evaluation value is mapped into the axis (S207), so as to obtain a specified value to adjust the mapped color evaluation value specified by a user in the one-dimensional space (S208). According to the obtained specified value, the mapped color evaluation value is adjusted in each direction of two axes which defines the coordinate plane representing the color evaluation value, and from the adjusted color evaluation value, a white balance correction value is calculated, so as to perform the white balance correction of the image data of the image obtained by imaging the subject (S211).
