Abstract:
To provide an image processing apparatus that performs image reduction through hardware processing without stopping line output.SOLUTION: In an image processing apparatus, an input circuit 2 thins out, of pixel data of an input block of a predetermined size extending over a line of an inverse number of a reduction rate, pixel data of pixels other than pixels to be sampled specified according to the reduction rate with throughput of a square multiple of the inverse number of the reduction rate relative to the throughput of an output circuit 3, and writes the pixel data of the pixels to be sampled in a line buffer. When the pixel data of the input block adjacent to the input block in a sub scanning direction is written in the line buffer 1, the output circuit 3 reads out the pixel data of the pixels to be sampled from the line buffer 1 and continuously outputs the pixel data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
