To provide a technology by which image files can be handled as one image file even if generating a plurality of the image files by one time of imaging.

An image processing apparatus includes: an image processing section for applying electronic development processing to first image data which are obtained by picking up an image of a subject to generate second image data; an image information generation section for generating first image information for the first image data, second image information for the second image data, and priority information about the utilization of image data for the first image data and the second image data; and an image file generating section for generating a first image file by adding the first image information to the first image data, a second image file by adding the second image information to the second image data, and for adding the priority information to at least either the first image file or the second image file.
