The image processing method converts image data created on the basis of the display image of the display apparatus in the observation environment into image data in conformity with the standard color space. The method has an environment setting process for setting a parameter associated with the display apparatus in the observation environment; a tristimulus converting process for converting the color signal of an input image into a tristimulus value on the basis of the parameter; and a standard color space converting process for converting the tristimulus value into a color signal on the standard color space.
