Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reproduced image high in quality from a digital image signal obtained by an image pickup device by extracting featured values indicating the characteristics of the image pickup device from the digital image signals of plural subjects photographed by the same image pickup device, and operating an image processing corresponding to the featured values to the digital image signal.
SOLUTION: An image processor 2 of an image reproducing system operates an image processing for correcting the gray balance of a digital image signal S. A featured value extracting means 4 calculates the mean value of color signals R, G, and B constituting each digital signal S as featured values T. Each mean value Ri, Gi, and Bi of the color signals R, G, and B is calculated for each digital image signal S, and each mean value Rave, Bave, and Gave, of the mean values Ri, Gi, and Bi are calculated. In an image processing means 5, each picture element of the digital signal S is calculated with a prescribed formula based on the calculated mean values to correct the deviation of color reproduction.
