Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and an image reader, which suppress deterioration of image quality.SOLUTION: An image processing section 20 mainly includes: an edge determination section 20b; a color determination section 20d; and a resolution conversion section 20e. The edge determination section 20b determines whether target pixels are equivalent to an edge part on an upstream in a sub-scanning direction, to an edge part on a downstream in the sub-scanning direction or a non-edge part with pixels of respective colors corresponding to reading operation for one line as targets. The color determination section 20d determines color shift directions of the target pixels and performs color/black determination for determining whether the target pixels are black or not in response to pixel values of the respective colors on the target pixels and a color/black determination condition for determining whether the target pixels are color or black. When the color determination section 20d determines that the target pixels are black, the resolution conversion section 20e corrects a sub-scanning direction width of an image, which is expressed by image data for one line, in response to a determination result by the edge determination section 20b and a determination result of color shift determination by the color determination section 20d.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
