Abstract:

To provide an image processing unit that not only informs a user about occurrence of an error but also monitors confirmation by the user in response to the notice.

On the occurrence of an error such as shortage of toner, paper jamming, or shortage of paper during execution of a job, the image processing unit 5 obtains identification data of a device and a user that requests the performance of this job and transmits an error message to the device of the user. The image processing unit 5 monitors confirmation by the user related to the notice of the occurrence of the error and informs other predetermined user or a manger about the occurrence of the error when the image processing unit 5 cannot confirm the reception of the error notice by the user or the error is not restored even when the image processing unit 5 can confirm it.
