To provide an image processing unit and an image processing system where image quality preferred by the user is automatically learned and that provides an output of an image reflecting it.

An image input section 1 reads and inputs an image of an original. The image quality parameter input section 2 inputs parameters for image quality adjustment. An image quality parameter storage section 3 stores the parameters received from the image quality parameter input section 2. An image quality parameter decision section 4 decides an image quality parameter to adjust the image quality of the image inputted by the image input section 1 on the basis of the parameters stored in the image quality parameter storage section 3. An image processing section 5 applies processing to the image received from the image input section 1 on the basis of the image quality parameter decided by the image quality parameter decision section 4. An image output section 6 outputs the image processed by the image processing section 5 on paper.
