Abstract:
PURPOSE:To exert no influence even if brightness of an image is varied suddenly by allowing the title processor to execute an external world recognition, based on other external world information input means than an optical system, when brightness of an image which is inputted to an image input means has been varied suddenly. CONSTITUTION:A image signal outputted from an image sensor 2 is inputted to a detecting means 6 for a sudden variation of brightness of an image, whether a sudden variation of brightness of an image exists or not is detected, and a result of detection is inputted to a control means 8. At a normal time when there is no sudden variation of brightness of the image, the control means 8 inputs a starting signal to an image sensor use external world recognizing means 12 and operates it, and allows said means to recognize the external world, based on an image signal outputted from an image sensor 2. On the other hand, at an abnormal time when it has been detected that a sudden variation has been generated in brightness of the image, a starting signal is inputted to a sonar use external world recognizing means 14 immediately, based on its detection and said means is operated, and allowed to recognize the external world, based on a sonar signal outputted from a sonar 4.
