To reduce operator's labor and to automatically structure a necessary and sufficient system by managing the operation of an image information reader and an arbitrary number of terminal devices on the basis of attribute information, regarding read operation, and attribute information, regarding correction processing, which are stored in a main processor.

An optical character reader(OCR) 1 as an image information reader reads character information given to a document as a medium for a read in batch units and outputs its result. Then 1st and 2nd terminal devices 2 and 3 take the read result of the character information by the OCR 1 in, performs correction processing, and sends the correction result out. A main processor (host computer) 4 manages the read operation of the OCR 1 and the correction processing operation of the terminal devices 2 and 3. This main processor 4 is a control part 10 which controls the entirety and takes the read result of the OCR 1 in. The operation of the OCR 1 and terminal devices 2 and 3 is managed on the basis of the attribute information, regarding the read operation, and the attribute information, regarding the correction processing, which are stored in the main processor 4.
