Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and its processing method, which perform filter processing according to a power variation rate, phase information by pixels of interest, and phase information control parameters (low-pass coefficients) for controlling the frequency characteristics of a filter and perform power variational processing which suppresses generation of a cyclic striped pattern such as moire without unnecessary reduction of resolution.
SOLUTION: When input image data are outputted after power variation processing, an address arithmetic processing part 702 determines phase information, indicating the distance between the position of a pixel of interest, after the power manification processing; and a nearby pixel of an original image corresponding to the variable power rate of the power variation processing, a coefficient arithmetic processing part 704 calculates the filter coefficients for filter processing, according to the determined phase information; and a filter processing part 705 performs the filter processing for input binary image data through convolutional calculations, according to the calculated filter coefficients and outputs multivalued image data. An LUT 706 performs density conversion to density characteristics of a printer and a binarization processing part 707 binarizes and outputs the multivalued image data to an image storage part 604.
