To provide an image processor for highly accurately detecting a defective pixel of an imaging device by utilizing a pupil-divided luminous flux.
The image processor includes: focus degree evaluation means for processing images obtained from the imaging device including a plurality of first pixels and a plurality of second pixels for respectively photoelectrically converting pupil-divided first luminous flux and second luminous flux and evaluating a focus degree using the output of the first pixels and the second pixels; defect detection means for detecting the defective pixel of the imaging device; interpolation means for interpolating the defective pixel; and signal processing means for generating a photographed image using the output of the first pixels, the second pixels and the pixels obtained by interpolating the defective pixel. The defect detection means determines whether or not a first specified pixel or a second specified pixel is a defective pixel by comparing the first ratio of pixel values of the first specified pixel of the plurality of first pixels and the second specified pixel of the plurality of second pixels with the second ratio of the pixel values of a first vicinity pixel positioned near the first specified pixel and a second vicinity pixel positioned near the second specified pixel.
