Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the gradation property of image data and to remove mosquito noise on the compression/expansion processing of image data using discrete cosine transformation.
SOLUTION: A compression/expansion processing means 20 compressing/ expanding image data by using discrete cosine transformation, a first base removal means 12 applying a base removal processing to image data before a compression/expansion processing and a second base removal means 16 applying the base removal processing to image data after the compression/expansion processing are installed. Mosquito noise is removed by applying a second base removal processing to image data after the compression/expansion processing and the gradation property of image data is secured by combining the first and second removal processings.
