Abstract:
PURPOSE: To smoothly process the various kinds of multilevel images without considerably extending circuit scale and considerably changing a processing program.
CONSTITUTION: In an image processor 10 provided with an input buffer 101 for holding inputted images with fixed data width as the unit of access, image processing part 103 for processing the images held by that input buffer and output buffer 105 for holding the output images as the processing results of that image processing part, an input side data width selector 102 is provided to convert an address for performing access from the image processing part 103 to the input buffer 102 corresponding to the unit data width of a target image processed by the image processing part 103 when transferring image information from the input buffer 101 to the image processing part 103 and to select data with the unit data width of the target image out of the data with the fixed data width read from the convert address.
