Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which enables high-speed processing in simple configuration.
SOLUTION: Concerning the configuration of this image processor, X and Y decoders are provided for selecting prescribed dots while using a random accessible image sensor 33, both the decoders are connected through latch circuits 36X and 36Y to the address bus of a CPU, the output of the image sensor is connected through an A/D converter 34 to a data bus, the strobe inputs of the latch circuits are connected to an address strobe signal line, and the conversion start timing of the A/D converter is controlled independently of the CPU. X and Y addresses are selected without through the input/output port of the CPU and the image sensor can be handled as the same memory as a ROM or the like when it is watched from the CPU. Thus, the CPU can access the image sensor similarly to the memory and can read image data for one dot through one step. Therefore, the clock velocity of the CPU can be made into 1/3.
