Abstract:
To provide an image reading device that can improve the accuracy in reading an image position performed by a reading unit to accurately adjust the printing position of an image, and an image forming apparatus including the image reading device.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a reading unit 9 that reads a reference image formed on a sheet to be conveyed in order to adjust the printing position of an image; a downstream roller (first downstream roller 112) that is provided on the downstream side in a conveyance direction of a reading position of the reading unit 9, and pushes the sheet to be conveyed toward a reading surface of the reading unit 9; and a control unit 1 that causes an image forming unit 8 forming an image on a sheet to form the reference image. The distance from the leading end of the sheet to the reference image formed on the sheet is shorter than the distance from the reading position of the reading unit 9 to the first downstream roller 112.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
