Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a short-circuit and a broken wire due to a damage to a connection cord in contact with a hinge metallic fixture in the image reader in which the connection cord is exposed to the outside of the reader and the exposed cord is covered by an outer cover.
SOLUTION: In the case of placing an original directly on a contact glass sheet provided with a reader main body 1, a draft feeder 2 is open/closed in the image forming device. A connection cord 6 exposed to the outside of the reader is covered by an outer cover 7. The outer cover 7 is provided with a rib 8 to correct the connection cord 6 to a position not in contact with a hinge metallic fixture 4. Corners 8b, 8b at both edges of a guide face 8a of the rib 8 with which the connection cord 6 is in contact are chamfered and rounded to prevent a large friction from being caused or no damage is caused even when the connection cord 6 is in contact with the corners 8b, 8b.
