Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus configured to accelerate a processing speed during double-side reading by more effectively matching reading speeds of both sensors without performing such processing as changing an operation clock.SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus 22 includes: a reduction optical system reading part 4; a non-magnification optical reading part 5 of which the reading system is different from that of the reduction optical system reading part 4 and the reading speed is low; a mode switching part; and a horizontal synchronizing signal control part. When images on a first side and a second side are to be read in one process by the reduction optical system reading part 4 and the non-magnification optical system reading part 5, the mode switching part and the horizontal synchronizing signal control part change a phase of a horizontal synchronizing signal of the reduction optical system reading part 4 to be used for reading one scan line for a document into a phase of a horizontal synchronizing signal of the on-magnification optical system reading part 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
