The image reading device 1 includes a pair of resist rollers 15 conveying the conveyed articles G, an image reading part 19 arranged at the downstream side of the resist rollers 15 and reading images of the conveyed articles G, and a conveying device 16 arranged at the downstream side of the image reading part 19 and conveying the conveyed articles G. The conveying device 16 includes a drive roller 51, and a driven roller 52 arranged oppositely to the drive roller 51. After the conveyed articles G are rotated by making the driven roller 52 rotate around the drive roller 51 in a state that the conveyed articles G whose images have been read by the image reading part 19 are held between the drive roller 51 and the driven roller 52, the conveyed articles G are conveyed to the resist rollers 15.
