PURPOSE: To obtain an organic photoelectric converting element of excellent responding speed and SN ratio (Photoelectric current/Dark current) characteristic, by adding donar-diallylmethane compound to azo dye.
CONSTITUTION: A photoconductor contains effective elements diallylmethane compound expressed by the formula and the specified azo dye. The weight mixing ratio of the employed azo dye, diallylmethane compound and insulating resin is; azo dye/insulating resin: 1/3W3/1, diallylmethane compound/insulating resin: 1/3W1/1. An excessive mixing ratio of azo dye, diallylmethane compound to insulating resin causes poor adherence of photoconductor film with electrode and insulating substrate and poor reliability. Further, shorter ratio causes excessively low photoconductive coefficient σp and the SN ratio (σp/σd) can not be raised. A preferable range of thicknesses of the photoconductor film is 0.2W2μm.
