Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the latitude of an external device which can be connected to an image reader.
SOLUTION: An external interface adapter 20 is freely detachable with respect to an image reader 10. A computer, etc., can be connected to the adapter 20. An interface circuit 21 for converting the format of image data obtained by the reader 10 to a format according to the interface of the computer is provided within the adapter 20. An image recorded at an original to be read M is read by the reader 10 and transferred to the computer via the adapter 20.
