PURPOSE: To make it possible to record high-resolution images at a high speed by using a versatile photosensitive material with an image recorder for recording the image by irradiating the photosensitive material with light patterns.
CONSTITUTION: Light patterns 20 indicating blue images indicated by image signals Q are projected from a CRT 2 and a spatial optical modulator 3 is irradiated with these light patterns, and the light patterns are written therein. Reading out light 21 is then emitted from a halogen lamp 4. This reading out light 21 is made incident on a PBS 6 through a filter 5 of B, is reflected by the PBS 6 and is made incident on the spatial optical modulator 3. The reading out light 21 is modulated and reflected by the spatial optical modulator 3, is made incident again on the PBS 6 as recording light 22 and is transmitted through. The photosensitive material 9 is irradiated with the light via a projecting lens 8. The photosensitive material 9 is sensitized by recording light 22 and the image of B is recorded thereon. The light patterns of green and red are henceforce recorded similarly on the photosensitive material 9, thereby, the color images are recorded on the photosensitive material 9.
