To provide a high-reliability image recorder capable of recording an image at high speed on a recording medium being in a heat mode with high-output laser.
The laser light emitted from a high output semiconductor laser 101 is made incident on an interference type optical shutter 105 by a 1st optical system 103 as a wide luminous flux along a prescribed direction crossing the outgoing direction of the laser light. On the other hand, a voltage selected in accordance with an image to be recorded on the recording medium 3 is applied on each pair of electrodes of the interference type optical shutter 105, then, the luminous flux made incident on the shutter 105 is optically modulated by the electrical/mechanical action of a flexible thin film, then, the luminous flux is emitted so as to irradiate the recording medium with the luminous flux through a 2nd optical system 107.
