To carry out image recording at a high speed without an apparatus configuration made complicate.
Platens 110 and 120 which convey printing paper P from a container 10 are prepared. The platen 110 moves back and forth between a reception position 110a where the paper P is received and a delivery position 110b where the paper P is discharged. The platen 120 moves back and forth between a reception position 120a where the paper P is received and a delivery position 120b where the paper P is discharged. Inkjet heads 2 eject the ink to the paper P on the platen 110 at a position 1a, and also eject the ink to the paper P on the platen 120 at a position 1b. Thus images are each recorded onto the papers P conveyed by the platens 110 and 120. A control part 160 controls their movements so that the platens 110 and 120 alternately reach the reception positions.
