To obtain an image recorder constituted so that the endless belt of a sticking unit can be rotated whether it abuts on a photosensitive material or not.
A one-way roller 74 which is rotated only counterclockwise with respect to a paper surface and which is not rotated clockwise by a one-way clutch is supported at the upper part of a supporting plate 48 erected at the bottom surface of the base of the image recorder. A swing cam 76 pressed counterclockwise with respect to the paper surface by a pressing rubber 168 is disposed at the upper part of the sticking unit 30. Then, a rotating roller 78 rotated counterclockwise with respect to the paper surf ace by a motor is pivotally supported by the cam 76. When the unit 30 is retreated from a standby position, the vertical surface 36B of the endless belt 36 abuts on the roller 78 and the belt 36 is rotated clockwise with respect to the paper surface. When the unit 30 is advanced from the standby position, the belt 36 abuts on the roller 74 and it is rotated by friction.
