An image file acquired by picking up an image of an object by means of the digital camera 10 and an image user identification name corresponding to each image file are outputted to a recording medium 30 set in the digital camera 10. An image user is stored in the memory in an image data output unit 40 while being associated with a desired output mode. The recording medium 30 is then taken out from the digital camera 10 and set in the image data output unit 40. In the image data output unit 40, the image file and a corresponding image user identification name are read out from the recording medium 30 and an image output mode corresponding to the image user identification name is read out from the memory means in the image data output unit 40 and then the image data in the image file is outputted in that image output mode.
