Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce influence of a turbulent state on the outer surface of an output surface by covering the outside of the output surface for displaying or projecting an image or similar information with a specific wear resistant, transparent coating layer.
CONSTITUTION: A glass base body 10 of a panel of a cathode-ray tube has a refractive index of 1.54. A titanium oxide (TiO2) layer 16 having a refractive index of 2.4, a thickness of 0.1&angst , a silica layer 17 having a refractive index of 1.45, a thickness of 537&angst , another titanium oxide (TiO2) layer 18 having a thickness of 6093&angst , another silica layer 19 having a thickness of 680&angst , and an adamantine carbon deposit layer 13 having a thickness of 100&angst , a refractive index of 1.9, capable of replacing with ITO are stacked on the glass base body 10 in order. The layers 16-19 have a role to match the refractive indexes for satisfying a reflection preventing function, and the adamantine carbon layer 13 serving as a wear resistant layer has almost no recessed and projecting parts, a hardness of 1500-400kg/mm2, is chemically inactive, and capable of obstructing the transmission of ultraviolet rays.
