Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize a high image quality panorama image synthesizer at a low cost in which joints of images are not remarkable.
CONSTITUTION: The image synthesizer is a synthesizer in which plural image data picked up by an image pickup device having a prescribed field angle while the image pickup position is revised so that an object is partially overlapped are synthesized in a memory 41 to obtain a still image of the object with a wider field angle than above. A displacement calculation means 24 calculates a motion vector of an image from a preceding image pickup position till a succeeding image pickup position with accuracy in the unit of picture element dots forming image data or below and in the unit of horizontal lines or below. An interpolation processing means 50 forms data with accuracy in the unit of picture element dots forming image data or below and in the unit of horizontal lines or below as image data for a succeeding image pickup position depending on a motion vector calculated by the displacement calculation means 24. A synthesis means is provided, in which data of the image synthesized with a synthesis image formed so far is obtained in the memory 41 at the position shifting the image formed by the interpolation processing means 50 by the motion vector.
