To provide an image transfer apparatus for preventing wrinkles from being generated when an image formed on an image sheet is heat-transferred on an image receiving sheet.
At the same time when a plate-like member 54a is inserted into a gap between a pair of transfer rolls 31 and 32 or after it is inserted therebetween, the lower side transfer roller 32 is moved upward from a position PB to a position PA to change the transfer rollers 31 and 32 to pressing condition and the apex part of a laminated body SC wherein an image sheet SA and an image receiving sheet SB are laminated is placed between the top side transfer roller 31 and the highly rigid plate-like member 54a. In addition, the plate-like member 54a is pushed out by rotating the transfer rollers 31 and 32 and the laminated body SC is guided by means of a guide sheet 52 being laid over between a supporting member 53 and the plate-like member 54a and having a shape along a part of a circumferential curved face to pass the laminated body SC through a space between the guide sheet 52 and the transfer roller 31. It is possible thereby to prevent wrinkles from being generated and to perform heat-transfer.
