An imaging apparatus is constituted by combining controller functions 301-304 for storing forms to nonvolatile storages 401-404 of printers 101-104, printer engine functions 201-204 for printing developed bit maps, and a plurality of the printers 101-104. The imaging apparatus has a function of making it sure if the same form is registered to the other printers 102-104 when the form is to be registered to a specific printer, e.g. the printer 101, and stops registering the form to the printer 101 when the same form is registered to the other printers 102-104.
