The imaging apparatus is provided with: a camera section 1 for photographing an object and outputting image data; an image data storage section 6 for storing the image data until a user distinctly indicates data erasure; a key operation detection section 25 for detecting a depression / release operation of a shutter button by the user; an AF control section 21 for automatically adjusting the focus of the camera section 1 on the basis of the depression operation of the shutter button; and a photographing processing section 26 for storing the image data from the camera section 1 to the image data storage section 6 on the basis of the release operation of the shutter button.
