To provide an imaging apparatus capable of properly performing image processing even when there is a defective pixel in an OB area.
The imaging apparatus is provided with: an imaging element 104 having a light receiving area and a light shielding area; a comparator 112 which determines whether or not a pixel value of the defective pixel is read from the light shielding area in comparison with a flaw determination threshold level; a register which stores a predetermined setting value of a black reference level; a switch which considers an average level of the read pixel values in the light shielding area as the black reference level when it is determined that the pixel value of the defective pixel is not read by the comparator 112 and considers the setting value stored in the storage part as the black reference level when it is determined that the defective pixel is read and inputs the black reference level into in an OB clamp circuit 107; and the OB clamp circuit 107 which corrects a black level of an image using the input black reference level.
