Abstract:
To allow an optical filter with various levels of light transmittance to be used in an imaging apparatus without increasing the size of the imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has: an image pickup device 22 that includes an imaging surface 22a on which light from a subject is incident; a first filter unit 16 that includes a first electronic optical filter 24 that can change light transmittance; and a first driving mechanism 34 that rotates the first filter unit 16 centered on a first rotation center line C1 between a first filtering position and a first retreat position. The first filtering position is a position at which the first optical filter 24 is present in front of the imaging surface 22a of the image pickup device 22 and light before reaching the imaging surface 22a transmits through the first optical filter 24. The first retreat position is a position at which the first filter unit 16 is moved from the front of the imaging surface 22a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
