Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus that is advantageous in achieving a global shutter mode.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus picks up an image of a subject, and comprises: an image pick-up device that accumulates electric charges corresponding to light from the subject; and a control unit that controls application of voltage to an ND filter capable of setting an incident state where the light is incident on the image pick-up device and a light blocking state for blocking the light and the drive of the image pick-up device. The imaging apparatus can control the value of voltage applied to the ND filter and the drive of the image pick-up device to set a global shutter mode in which a start timing to start exposure of the image pick-up device and an end timing to end the exposure of the image pick-up device match with each other on every line of the image pick-up device, and a mode other than the global shutter mode. When setting the global shutter mode, the control unit determines the applied voltage value based on an exposure time, a frame rate, or the number of pixels reading the electric charges from the image pick-up device which are set for the imaging apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
