Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device satisfying both stability of picture angles required for shooting while keeping track of a certain subject and response of composition settings required for shooting while fixing the size of images of different subjects.SOLUTION: The imaging device detects a site of a subject, such as a face, in an imaging screen as a main subject. A photographer-intention estimating section 123 estimates a picture-taking intention to change the main subject to another one. When an auto-zoom controlling section 125 receives an estimation result on the change of the main subject to another one, it determines the main subject, and then drives a magnification-lens driving section 114 via a lens-drive controlling section 126 to perform zoom control so as to keep fixing image sizes of the changed main subject. The auto-zoom controlling section 125 enhances response of zoom control when the photographer-intention estimating section 123 estimates the change of the main subject to another one compared with the case when it does not estimate the change thereof.
