Abstract:
To prevent an image with an unnatural brightness according to the degree of polarization of a subject from being acquired.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging element that captures an optical image of a subject obtained through a polarization filter having a region having a plurality of different polarization directions, acquiring means for acquiring a luminance value for each of a plurality of polarization directions based on data output from the imaging element, and determination means for determining the degree of polarization at an angle of view when the imaging element is used to image the subject based on a luminance value for each of the plurality of polarization directions obtained by the determination means, and setting means for grouping areas included in the angle of view according to the degree of polarization based on a result of the determination by the determination means, and setting the grouped areas as selectable metering frames for exposure adjustment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
