Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device equipped with an array lens with which it is possible to have a subject more suitably focused on for the imaging device even when each in-focus position of each ommatidium in the array lens at which an image is formed in accordance with a distance to the subject is not identical for all ommatidia, and further to provide an imaging method.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an array lens; a plurality of imaging units; a drive mechanism unit for moving the array lens; a distance calculation unit for calculating a distance to a subject on the basis of images captured by at least two imaging units among the plurality of imaging units; a control unit for causing, on the basis of the distance to the subject calculated by the distance calculation unit, the drive mechanism unit to move the array lens so that the subject is focused on; and an image composition unit for generating a new composite image by composing at least two or more images among the plurality of images captured by the plurality of imaging units after a position of the array lens is moved by the control unit.
