The imaging apparatus 1 comprises a base 5, a support plate 7, an arm 9, a first rotary shaft 11 for connecting the base 5 and the arm 9 so that they can be freely rotated relatively, a second rotary shaft 13 that is arranged nearly in parallel with a vertical surface to the first rotary shaft 11 and connects the support plate 7 and the arm 9, so that they can be freely rotated relatively, an imaging lens 35 that is supported by the arm 9, a spindle motor 17 for rotating and driving the support plate 11, and an electromagnetic linear actuator 19 for rotating and driving the arm 9. The second rotary shaft 13 is arranged on the extended line of the axis center of the first rotary shaft 11.
