To provide an imaging device capable of determining, with high precision, the suspension state and the attachment state of cells in a culture solution in a culture vessel with use of images from a plurality of different points in time.
The image device 1 includes: a vessel-gripping unit 32 that grips a culture vessel S containing cells and a culture solution; an oscillation unit 60 on which the vessel-gripping unit 32 is provided; a vibration unit 50 that vibrates the oscillation unit 60; an imaging unit 10 that takes images of the cells inside the culture vessel S; an image-correction unit 4 that uses images that the imaging unit 10 has taken of a plurality of imaging sites, including at least one mid-vibration image, to correct inter-image offsets due to the fact that the imaging sites are different; and an image-processing unit 5 that uses the images taken by the imaging unit 10 and the images corrected by the image-correction unit 4 to determine the suspension state or attachment state of cells. As a result, the configuration prevents attached cells from being mistakenly determined to be suspended and distinguishes between a state in which cells are locally attached and a completely-attached state.
