To provide an image pickup device capable of focus detection even in marked defocusing.SOLUTION: The image pickup device comprises: a first focus detection pixel on which light from an imaging optical system is incident through a first opening provided at a first position of a light shielding film; a second focus detection pixel on which the light from the imaging optical system is incident through a second opening provided at a second position different from the first position of the light shielding film; and a pixel part which is provided with a first region in which the first focus detection pixel is disposed and a second region in which an image height is higher than in the first area and the first focus detection pixel and the second focus detection pixel are disposed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
