Abstract:

To provide an imaging method by which an image showing high sensitivity and smooth conveying performance and a satisfactory transfer state of image and non-image parts, with outstanding fixing properties and non-image part glossiness.

The imaging method comprises the sequential steps to realize a transfer ink image by transferring an ink, in an image fashion, to the image- receiving layer of a heat-transfer intermediate transfer medium having an image receiving layer and a lower layer by heat from an ink sheet having a heat transfer ink layer and transfer the ink image formed on the intermediate transfer medium to the surface of a final image carrier after setting the intermediate transfer medium face to face to the final image carrier. In addition, in the step of transferring the image to the surface of the final image carrier, both ink image and image receiving layer are simultaneously transferred, in an image fashion, from the surface of the intermediate transfer medium.
